By virtue of its excellent location, the deep sea port of Gwadar is visualized to become a regional district serving the commercial incoming and outgoing traffic of the oil-rich Middle East, the heavily populated South Asia, resource-rich Central Asia and the economically emerging China.
About 460 km west of Karachi, Gwadar has emerged as a place of great strategic value, enhancing Pakistan's importance in the whole region. Keeping in view its utmost significance, the Government of Pakistan has declared Gwadar a duty free port and a free economic zone. With development and recreation programme, efficient implementation, and the government�s special attention, Gwadar is soon turning into a city comparable to Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai.
